Cindy McNaull has been a driving force and “durable ambassador” at INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand for more than a decade. In Cindy’s current role as global CORDURA® brand and marketing director, she harnesses more than 25 years of passion and experience in specialty chemical, textile and non-wovens industries. She has lead the expansion of the brand from its heritage in military and outdoor applications to today’s durable performance textile powerhouse offering technical solutions for gear and apparel used in building & construction, endurance sports, motorcycling, commuting and increasingly everyday lifestyle activities where durability counts.
Cindy is known for her creativity and ability to think beyond the norm. She’s spearheaded collaborations with leading brands and supply chain partners around the world including Carhartt, Levis, The North Face, Dickies and BLACKYAK, led impactful brand campaigns, and continues to take the CORDURA® brand’s 50-year heritage into new, innovative spaces. Her dedication to advancing the industry is unwavering.
And while the CORDURA® brand frequently collaborates with industry leaders, it also takes every opportunity to connect with today’s student designers to fuel the next generation of creative vision. Over the past decade, Cindy has been at the forefront of the CORDURA® brand team’s work with schools like ESMOD Paris and NC State College of Textiles, lending CORDURA® fabric to help tomorrow’s designers innovate the future of fashion and professional clothing. As part of its continued involvement with the Professional Clothing Awards, CORDURA® brand also teamed up with the Project 20/20 Design Awards in 2015, which challenged students to conceptualize workwear of the future with fabric functionality and commercial viability.
Cindy has also helped lead the CORDURA® brand in pioneering countless innovations to drive fabric advancements that have impacted outdoor, lifestyle, workwear, protective wear and professional clothing. Most recently this has been focused on showcasing the softer side of durability with the introduction of wool blend and durable knit technologies as well as collaborations with Lenzing TENCEL® fiber and Cotton Incorporated. With a current portfolio of over 2,000 fabrics with uses ranging from rugged garment reinforcements, to hard-working CORDURA® Denims; endurance wools to soft-touch CORDURA® 4EVER™ knits, long-lasting performance Hi-Vis laminates and specialist solution dyed CORDURA® fabrics for military gear, the CORDURA® brand continues to push the boundaries of textile innovation as evidenced by its record breaking 50 award winning fabrics in the 2017 ISPO TEXTRENDS outdoor industry competition.
Now, after ten durable years, she says “it's been a long journey that couldn’t have been made without our loyal brand customers, collaborative partners and durably passionate global CORDURA® brand team – and we’re not stopping anytime soon.”
